Hey, I'm Rachel. Thanks for visiting my bio page! I'm 22 and live in beautiful and not-as-rainy-as-everyone-says Seattle, WA.
I joined the YOUTH13-17 list when I was 15. I'd just realized that I wasn't straight and was pretty scared about what that meant for my life, and the list gave me a sense of community and a faith that things could be ok for me someday. My friends on the list gave me the confidence and encouragement I needed to start coming out, they celebrated with me when my real life friends turned out to be supportive, and they commiserated when a few of them weren't. I can't describe how wonderful a gift the list has been to me - but join it and find out for yourself!
When I'm not glued to my computer working for YGS, I sing a lot. I'm in two women's choirs, one of which is a gay chorus. I'm also a pretty big computer geek, and I work at Microsoft. I'm a big musical theater dork, and I know all of the words to RENT and way too many other shows. I also love the Indigo Girls, Dar Williams, Girlyman, and stuff like that. I have a weakness for snarky movies about teenagers, like Mean Girls, CAMP, and Saved!, and I'm also a big fan of science fiction.
